Mother’s Day is Sunday!

Brunch is the traditional Mother’s Day meal (in my version of reality). Show your favorite mum a little love by making a delicious homemade brunch using all local ingredients! Here are a couple of menu ideas:

1. Farm-fresh eggs, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms, bacon, sausage or ham and cheeeeeese. Mmmmm.

You can make a scramble or a fried version, and look how pretty! Just cook up your meat, add some veggies to saute briefly, then add eggs and cheese and cover to cook through Garnish with fresh herbs or shoots and serve with salad.

2. Salmon and a nice salad made with a delicious marinade and dressing made with our NEW MO Wild Edibles Mushroom Miso.

3. Yogurt Parfait with Windcrest Dairy Yogurt, Companion Granola, Almond Butter, Honey and Applesauce or Peaches (or really raise the bar with a layer of Bittersweet Chocolate’s Salted Caramel Chocolate Sauce).

Give her a real treat and buy her a one- or two-week share of food that she can pick up from Fair Shares, ($55 full or $35 mini).

We can also suggest some other treats, like Kakao or Patric Chocolates, a Geisert smoked ham, pretzel croissants, a smoked chicken, frozen pizzas, pounds of bacon, a box of granola or a bag of dates.
