Miso Roast Turnips

Wondering what to do with those turnips we’ve been getting? Here’s your answer. With a few simple ingredients, you can make something the whole family will love. You can make them sweet or savory by swapping a few ingredients.

INGREDIENTS
Fair Shares
Turnips
Olive oil
1 tbsp Maple syrup (if you want sweet)

Other ingredients
1 tbsp white miso paste mixed with 1 tbsp warm water
1 garlic clove, minced (if you want savory)
Salt and pepper
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

METHOD
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Cut turnips in half if small and quarter of large. Place in a large bowl and glug a bit of olive oil over them. Toss to coat. Add the miso/watee mixture and either the maple syrup or the garlic (go crazy and add both maybe with a bit of crushed red pepper) and toss to coat. Spread evenly on baking sheet. Roast for 30-40 minutes, depending on how carmelized you like them. Toss turnips halfway and then check every 5 minutes for appropriate browning. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and garnish with chopped parsley to serve.
