Yellow Wood Farms News:
Trica Wagner of Yellow Wood emailed this week
–Floods have taken most of our crops. Funny thing is that we hadn’t had a lick of rain in a month, but ended up with the biggest flood we have seen.
Before the water came all the way up we ran out to pick cubanelles, jalapenos, Romas and green peppers. Also some slicing cukes were grown in the greenhouse and were spared.
I wish you all could see what a vast amount of water that it is. Pictures don’t even capture it. I guess you expect it on the Mississippi or Missouri, but the little Gasconade River… It is crazy. Crested here on Friday night but there is still so much water that canoe is the best way to get around. Anyway, it is what it is; nothing I can do about it.
The above photo was taken after the flood of 2008–Tricia didn’t send any new photos, yet.
