Tip: Freeze Your Peppers!

Do you know you can freeze peppers? This time of year I have so many peppers rolling around in my fridge. When winter hits and I make chili, stew, soup, or meatloaf, I am happy I took the time to chop and freeze them.

I like to freeze the sweet peppers separately from the banana peppers. I freeze jalepenos whole, but if you don’t like that much heat, you can de seed them and then freeze. I have a vacuum sealer but you can just use a ziplock bag and place a straw at one end. Seal the bag and suck out as much air as you can then remove the straw and seal the bag completely.

Remember to date your bags so you know which to use first. Here’s to preserving the harvest.
