What's in a share?

Because Fair Shares is a CCSA, we provide a wide variety of food from lots of different farmers and producers in each share. Every week is different. Certainly, you will have fresh, seasonal produce, but also year-round staples like rice, eggs, cheese, pasta, meat, coffee, baked goods, preserved fruits, mushrooms and more. We eat with the seasons and whatever is available within about a 100-mile radius of St. Louis. You might be surprised to discover Missouri's incredible abundance.

You can trade many of the items, so the share can fit your diet or tastes. Vegetarian? Skip the meat and get fresh tomatoes instead. Picky eaters? Trade that special cheese for Missouri-made peanut butter and jelly. Also, you're not limited to your share. Shop for extras when you come to pick up your bags of goodies.

Don't be intimidated by a new or exotic-sounding item—that makes it fun! We love to talk recipes when you pick up something that you have never tried before, and we have an active online community to help generate fresh ideas.

We have share options to help fit your schedule, budget, and appetite; choose which share is right for you, and start eating real, good food.

Hear what our members say about the food in the video below!

Tip: How to de-cob your corn

All you need is a deep bowl or pot and a sharp knife to make cutting your corn off the cob a breeze. Of course, a shallow bowl or plate is an option if you like cleaning up bits of corn kernal and a spray of corn juice (really, corn juice?). First husk the corn and brush off all the silks. Testimonials

Yellow Dog Farms is a successful small farm in a large part due to Sara and Jamie at Fair Shares CCSA. They were willing to take a chance on a budding (pun intended) first generation Farmer. We were not a supplier to Fair Shares the very first year, but have been ever since and hopefully far into our shared futures.

I am proud to be a supplier and you should be proud to be a member of Fair Shares CCSA where we are all involved in growing and eating better quality, healthy food and supporting small, local businesses and small scale agriculture in Missouri and Illinois.
