Welcome to Fair Shares Season 14 Wk17

Half-Share Members: it's an ODD-week pickup--check your subscriptions in your Farmigo account if you are unsure whether you are an ODD- or EVEN-week half share. Please note that you will receive this newsletter weekly (you may request access to order through the store on your off weeks).

If you need to switch your pickup day, email us before 10a.m. Wednesday. Selecting the different day in the store is not the way to do it!

LOGIN HERE to make your trades and order. You may update your cart as many times as you like.
Your share will be packed for you whether you make trades and select a time or not, it just helps us have it ready when you arrive.

VACATION SHARE HOLD INFO: Please note that we order the produce on Monday, so we MUST have share holds in place before 8:00a.m. so that we can figure our numbers properly.
Although you may put your share on hold, it would be EXTREMELY helpful to us and our farmers, who have upped production this season, if you found someone who might like to buy your share for the weeks you're gone, to try it out. Maybe you want to pay your petsitter or house sitter with some food, or maybe you have to give a present to someone, and we can make it easy on you!

Fair Shares October Ohm Break 10/4-8/21

Speaking of vacation, heaven knows we all need one. Since 4th of July didn't happen during pickups, we won't get one until the fall. Normally we take a September Sanity Break, but this year it will happen the following week, so mark your calendars (and plan your own vacations accordingly!). Half share members, note that this will be Week 29, so ODD-week members will have a whole month off, and EVEN-week members will be none the wiser. This is your second of fourteen notices! πŸ˜‚

Did you make anything wonderful over the weekend? Have great ideas to share on social media? Be sure to tag Fair Shares to let your friends and family know where you source your fabulous local foods.

Find us on Facebook, Twitter @fairsharesccsa, or Instagram. Participate in our group and share your pretty Fair Shares food photos on your own timeline to help us get more members! Thanks!

Here's a good article on TreeHugger that explains perfectly the joys of seasonal eating, which will be helpful when you're trying to convince your friends and family to join Fair Shares! πŸ˜‰

Tip: How to de-cob your corn

Tip: How to de-cob your corn
Yay corn! The first thing I do when corn comes in is rip back the husk and eat an ear raw. In fact, I eat most of my corn raw, in salads, like my favorite one noted to the right.

Lasagne-ish

I made the weirdest lasagne last week. It was good, but unlike any lasagna I've ever eaten. Of course, there was no recipe, only ingredients begging to be part of this wacky dish.

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. We get over 400 order confirmation emails in the orders@fairshares.org account and WE DO NOT CHECK THEM, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it!

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click certain items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
All members must complete trades and orders by 10:30a.m. Wednesday.

All orders are by 10:30a.m. Wednesday!

If you need to come on the other day, you must let us know BY EMAIL before Wednesday so we can switch you for the week. Just selecting a time for the other day will not alert us of your request. Otherwise we won't have your share ready for you.

If you by chance get a less that pretty piece of produce in your share this week, it's because Fair Shares is helping our farmers who were unable to sell their goods at the market over the weekend due to storms and bad weather. Please inspect your food and use it accordingly; as always, thanks for your support.
