Welcome to Fair Shares Week 6!
EVERYONE (FS, UC and KW members, all): Please follow these directions to select a time slot to pick up so we can get the bags ready and arranged in stages. Copy and paste your info in the appropriate signup at the Signup Genius link.: [First Name]
This is a critical step in getting the order reports to sync properly. For everyone who puts their name in wrong, we have to go in and fix it, and with ~390 member pickups, we appreciate you taking the minute plus that saves us 30-45 minutes that we desperately need for filling your bags before your arrival.
1. Sign up for a time slot here before 11 am Wednesday. Go to our Signup Genius and find the appropriate Signup for your assigned day and pickup location - we will not be able to fill your share if you come on the wrong day unless you have notified us by email before Wednesday.
2. Choose your preferred time slot
3. Enter the First and Last names as they are shown above, and submit.
We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and EVEN-week Half Share members on Wednesday and Thursday.
To make it easier on us and you at pickup, bring a full sheet of paper with your above info written or printed in Large Block Letters so you can flash us and we can find your bag faster--thanks!
It's getting better all the time!
We need your help in checking that you got what you were supposed to get in your bag before you leave. Let the person with the check-in sheet know of any missing or wrong items. We may not be able to correct a problem in UCity or Kirkwood, but you can help save us a million emails and future work, especially if you pick up at the Mothership.
If you're sending someone to pick up for you, please give them your list and let them know what to do.
Thanks for all the kind words and expressions of gratitude. We appreciate you all so much.

Notes on Trades and Orders
The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra.
Customize your cheese, grains, yogurt, meat, and other choices by deleting these items and adding in the variety you like from the store. Otherwise, we'll choose for you. Here's a video demo on how to make trades.
Please check the descriptions of items. If you are trading for anything that is priced per pound, you may want to email (reply) to let us know your intention, e. g. whether you are looking for three packages versus three pounds of boneless thighs. With the variability of package sizes and the limitations of the online store listing, sometimes it's helpful to avoid big surprises when we have to guess. We will update your cart with the actual weight and price.
Please do not order until we send the newsletter, even if your cart has been filled. If anything is entered wrong, I need to be able to fix it. We don't send the newsletter until we're ready for you to make trades. Be sure to add info@fairshares.org to your contacts so the email doesn't go to spam.
Login to your account to swap items from your cart and add extras.
The online store opens when you receive this email and closes at 10:30a.m. Wednesday for UCity members.
FS and Kirkwood members have until 11a.m.

Order Your Milk Ahead for Next Week
We're ordering extras to have on-hand while everyone is in panic mode, but with once a week pickups, we don't want to over order. If you would like to order half gallons of Ozark Mountain Creamery milk (whole, creamline, 2%, chocolate, or skim), please email Jamie by 3p.m. Sunday.
For pints of heavy cream, Half & Half, or chocolate milk (12 oz), please email orders@fairshares.org by Friday before pickup and let us know how many you would like. You may request a standing order.
We'll be reposting past recipes and blog posts for a while until we get caught up with all the curbside craziness and Sara can get a handle on the new website functions to create recipes, blog posts and newsletters.

Birthday Egg Bake
Birthday Egg Bake A certain Fair Shares involunteer had a birthday recently, and with it being an early work day, the traditional breakfast-in-bed routine got a raincheck, but I still wanted to do something special. So the night before, I made up this scrumptious little birthday egg bake for my scrumptious little birthday boy. In the morning, the alarm went …

Sausage, Asparagus & Gnocchi
Sausage, Asparagus & Gnocchi I like treating gnocchi like the sassy little dumplings that they are. I rarely boil them in water, and more often bake them or just toss them in with the other ingredients in the dish, allowing them to cook through, from frozen to a little fluffy, and hopefully even crispy and browned a bit.

The Joys of CSA Eating
There is a learning curve to eating locally and seasonally, so give yourself and your family the time to figure it out. It's worth learning because it can save you time and money, make you a more creative cook, and teach you to appreciate your food more as you savor the delicious quality of produce at its …

Scamorza Broil With Edible Blossoms
My first meal in Italy, in 2001, was with my Italian cousin Nicola, whom we'd never met. He brought Stephen and me (yes, that's correct grammar) to eat at a ristorante di scamorza in Rome. The only thing on the menu was different simple dishes of melted scamorza with one or two ingredients. There was scamorza …
