Welcome to Fair Shares Season 17 Wk4

We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and EVEN-week Half Share members this week.
(Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.)

Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday.

LOGIN HERE to select your time and ADD it in your cart. Make sure that the time you want is in your order confirmation email. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through. You may update your cart as many times as you like. Your share will be packed for you regardless of whether you make changes or select a time. The time just helps us organize and have your bags ready when you arrive.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

This email is how we communicate with members. Please at least scan it so you know any important information. If you have questions, just reply to this email. You can find past newsletters on the website here.
Week 4
It is crazy how one week can change so drastically in terms of produce. We have A LOT of new produce coming in this week. Asparagus is not in shares this week but it is in the store! We have lots of spinach and lettuce as well, to add to your carts.

NEW: Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Bunch Radishes, Arugula, Beet Greens, Mustard Greens, Dill, and Duck Eggs

Frittata

Frittata
by Beth Sorrell

I love this dish because it’s easy, versatile, and fairly healthy. You can eat it for any meal or freeze it for future meals... Read more

Ramps are a wild allium native to America. Often described as a cross between onion and garlic, they have an early and short season, so enjoy them while you can--they're great in a frittata!

Bison Taco Salad

Bison Taco Salad
The best thing about using ground bison for taco meat is that the meat is so lean that you don’t need to drain the fat! It’s also higher in vitamin b, zinc, iron, and omega 3 than beef. Winner winner taco dinner. Read more

Cabbage Steaks

Cabbage Steaks
The photo looks a bit psychedelic with the purple cabbage and bright green greens, but really, it's food. It's a big, thick, juicy cabbage steak. What? Mmmmm...Trust me on this. The green cabbages we got in this week will be perfect prepared like this.

I recently topped some roasted cabbage steaks with grated cheese and popped them back in the oven to melt, and it was so good, I may have to do that every time, now. Read more

Can You Dig It?

Herb and flower bedding plants are in the store for pre-order for your following pickup week, not the week you order them. We are only offering herbs and flowers for pre-order right now, since vegetables are not ready to plant yet. We will note in the newsletter in the coming weeks when it gets closer to planting time for vegetables. We will offer a variety of tomatoes, peppers, and a few other vegetables, but don't plan to offer a huge variety this year.

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click the items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound (indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
