New policy: Restocking fee
We will be charging a fee for members who repeatedly miss their pickup. Dealing with unclaimed bags is both annoying and time consuming at the end of very long, hot days. We understand that things come up and there are emergencies, but we pay people to pack the bags, bring them outside, bring them back inside, fish out and put away the frozen items, write the fished out items on the bag, put the bags in the cooler (if they haven't gotten soggy and fallen apart), and then collect and repack the bags when you show up. This may not sound like that big a deal, but multiply it by about 15 people per week, some with multiple bags and large orders, and you get the idea. This is just an "extra handling" fee, which will incur as follows:
If you have trouble making your pickup on a regular basis, don't sign up for a pickup time, and let us know ahead so we will always wait to fill your bag when you arrive.

Share Holds
If you are planning to put your share on hold while you are on vacation this summer, PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ORDER PRODUCE FOR THE SHARES ON MONDAYS, so you must make your share hold request by Monday at 8a.m. or you will be charged for your produce. Login to your account and click the Delivery Hold tab.
You may send someone else to collect your share if you forget, but we can't credit you for the produce we are stuck with. Thanks for your understanding.

We know, this is a lot of boring text to weed through, so here is our beautiful new freezer! Thanks so much to everyone who has donated. We're still in the market to replace chest freezers and acquire more refrigeration since doubling membership this season.

Anything Missing?
Remember to check your bag before you leave. Let us know of any missing or wrong items. We may not be able to correct a problem in UCity or Kirkwood, but you can help save us a million emails and future work if you let us correct your bag when you pick up at the Mothership.

Although Cham Bakery makes a wonderful Syrian baba ganouj, we have eggplant in season now, so if you're ready for a little DIY, this is a simple looking recipe and photo from Cooking Without a Net.

This dish is savory and satisfying, with the spice combination of cinnamon and cloves that make it an exotic and exciting meal. Preparation Ingredients: 2-3 T. butter 4 cloves garlic, crushed 1 -2 lb ground beef, lamb or combo 2 medium onions, 1/4 inch slices 2 hot and 2 bell peppers, sliced 1 lg. eggplant (2 lb.), 1/4 …

This everything-in-one-pan dish can be the basis of several delicious meals, particularly if you season it sparingly, allowing you to take it in other directions as fits the dish. It's also a great way to clean out your refrigerator drawer. Preparation This recipe includes (almost) all the produce that was in my fridge, so don't worry too …

This recipe can be used with any kind of squash, either summer or winter, and the stuffing you use can be seasonal and varied as well. Be creative, and be brave--it'll be delicious! The photo is a white patty pan squash. With some winter squash, the skin may be edible. The stuffing was …

These big white patty pans are so pretty and fun to use. One thing I learned is that it's important to season the squash well before cooking, or perhaps cook it with a flavorful broth inside. Don't be afraid to season the stuffing heavily as well, so that the flesh of the squash isn't too bland in …

This pandemic has been a unique experience for all of us and during these times we have all had to readjust to new ways of living.
Being the foodies that we are, one thing that we can say we all miss is sharing a home cooked meal at a table with loved ones. Our members Joanne McAndrews & Larry Eisenman decided not to limit themselves and get creative by collaborating with us for a Zoom dinner with friends!

Pan-Fried Corn
This is delicious hot as a side dish, or cold as a leftover--over salad, in Del Carmen Black Bean soup, out of the container in the refrigerator, etc.
See the tip at the right on how to remove corn kernals from the cob.
Melt about a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a minced or crushed clove of garlic and the shucked kernels of corn. Stir and fry until it starts to brown and caramelize. Add sea salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste. Serve immediately. Repeat as necessary.
Alternately, you can use onions and peppers in the pan-fried corn--or make it a party and it all!

Ground Cherries Are Here
Ground cherries, also known as husk cherries, or ground tomatoes, are related to the tomatillo, and hence the tomato. They are named for the fact that they fall to the ground from their bush when ripe. I sometimes get a texture reminiscent of kiwi. I have read descriptions claiming a mango or tropical flavor and grape texture, also. They are either like a lot of different fruits, or unlike anything else. You be the judge.
I have seen a number of ideas for what to do with ground cherries, but have only ever eaten them out of hand because they are so good as is and I've never gotten them in such abundance that I had to think of something else to do with them.

PLEASE, SHOW UP ON YOUR ASSIGNED PICKUP DAY!
The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra.
Please check the descriptions of items--some things are sold by the pound so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else.
Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
