Welcome to Fair Shares Season 14 Wk27

Half-Share Members: it's an ODD-week pickup--check your subscriptions in your Farmigo account if you are unsure whether you are an ODD- or EVEN-week half share. Please note that you will receive this newsletter weekly (you may request access to order through the store on your off weeks).

*************************************************************************************************************

IMPORTANT OCTOBER BREAK INFO: PLEASE READ THIS!

No milk on October 6 & 7, so if you would like to take an extra milk next week (ODD-week members picking up this week, we can order for you to pick up next week), please let Jamie know by Noon this Sunday, Sept 26. If you have a standing order for milk and order extras from the store, please just let us know if you want extra.

If you normally just order milk from the store, note that we do not intend to have a lot of extra on hand to sit around for a week while we're off, so please do let us know.

We will be putting everyone's share on hold for the week we're off, so if you want to donate your share that week, you may login and remove the share hold.

Also please note the following bit that has been in the newsletter for months -- we really are putting our foot down on after-the-fact share holds when we've already purchased the produce:

VACATION SHARE HOLD INFO: Please note that we order the produce on Monday, so we MUST have share holds in place before 8:00a.m. so that we can figure our numbers properly. You will be charged for the produce, which we can't sell, if you tell us or put your share on hold late.
Although you may put your share on hold (login and click the Delivery Hold tab), it would be EXTREMELY helpful to us and our farmers, who have upped production this season, if you found someone who might like to buy your share for the weeks you're gone, to try it out. Maybe you want to pay your petsitter or house sitter with some food, or maybe you have to give a present to someone, and we can make it easy on you!

Fair Shares October Ohm Break 10/4 through 10/8/2021

Speaking of vacation, heaven knows we all need one. Normally we take a September Sanity Break, but this year it will happen the following week, so mark your calendars (and maybe plan your own vacations accordingly). Half share members, note that this will be Week 29, so ODD-week members will have a whole month off, and EVEN-week members will be none the wiser. This is your TWELFTH of fourteen notices! πŸ˜ƒ

If you need to switch your pickup day, email us before 10a.m. Wednesday. Selecting the different day in the store is not the way to do it!

LOGIN HERE to make your trades and order. You may update your cart as many times as you like.
Your share will be packed for you whether you make trades and select a time or not, it just helps us have it ready when you arrive.

Roasted Summer Love

Roasted Summer Love
The trick to making this rich, intensely-flavored summer treat so delicious is roasting it to within an inch of its life, allowing the juices to concentrate and caramelize. You can sock it away in the freezer for later or serve over pasta, rice, polenta, cooked greens or crostini, or fold into an omelet or a sandwich. Seriously, wow--this is the secret to falling in love with ANY vegetable, … Read more

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. We get over 400 order confirmation emails in the orders@fairshares.org account and WE DO NOT CHECK THEM, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it!

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click certain items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

New Varieties of Union Loafers Bread this Week!

This week and next week, we'll be getting Whole Wheat Sandwich & Marble Rye. We're only getting a few of the rye in because we know there are more whole wheat lovers than rye lovers. Hurry to the store to reserve yours.

Since we'll be getting the bread in fresh on both Wednesday and Thursday, please make sure to select the proper item for your pickup day. If all the bread doesn't get purchased through the store, we'll offer it outside at the Mothership during pickup.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
All members must complete trades and orders by 10:30a.m. Wednesday.
