No Pickups Wk46 - PLEASE READ THIS!

Friday pickups between 11:00 and 2:30 are an option upon request. Since we're unsure what will actually be delivered tomorrow (e.g. milk) or what the weather will bring, we just postponed.

We're going to double up the shares next week, so please order as usual--we'll leave the store open until Thursday at 11:00am this week, then plan to do it again next week and receive both the shares then.

Half-Share Members: it's an EVEN-week pickup, but plan to come next week.
TRIAL SHARES: Pretend this week doesn't exist--we'll postpone your pickup until next week.

If you usually get milk and want to come for it on Friday, email so we can confirm that it was delivered (Wednesday delivery).
If you want to cancel next week's milk rather than taking double, email Jamie by noon on Sunday.

Mark Your calendars--our final week of Season 14 is February 23 & 24, Week 49.

We'll take the first three weeks of March off and resume with Season 15 Week 1 on March 23 & 24.

We plan on having a shopping day on the second week so people can come for staples, and milk if you want to order it for that week. If Omicron has settled down, maybe we'll make it a happy hour!

A Message to our new Trial Share Members

Welcome to our community! Please note that this is NOT AT ALL what the shares look like in the spring, summer and fall, because very little produce is growing here, and what does, grows very slowly. Most the greens have gone into the store for trades and purchase, so click the link to login to your account and order up if you'd like some! This is an opportunity to explore the vast inventory of local non-perishables that Fair Shares has to offer, and to help support us and our farmers and vendors all year long. We'd love to answer all your questions and invite you to join our Facebook group where many members share recipes, ask and answer questions, and are available to help you get the most out of the food in your shares. We even have long-time members who would be happy to mentor new members on how to overcome the challenges. Eating locally is a fun and rewarding experience and we appreciate you testing it out.

Pan Roasted Skin On Chicken

Pan Roasted Skin On Chicken
This is simple and delicious! The best part about getting chicken breasts from Fair Shares is that they come boneless but skin on. The skin serves as a natural little blanket that keeps all the moisture in.

Donations for other cats... ?

Last Thursday at the end of pickups, after putting everything away and cleaning up, two of our employees, Joe and Tina (who are a couple) discovered they had the catalytic converters stolen from BOTH of their Toyota Priuses that were parked in the upper lot in our complex. On top of a terrible end to a long cold week, and an expensive replacement ahead of them, Joe was supposed to be driving the next morning on a long awaited and much deserved vacation. He got other arrangements made, still has a big bill to deal with when he returns.

We feel terrible for them and will contribute all of this week's member donations from the online store to help them replace their "cats" which are not as cute and cuddly as our other TNR kitties, but are far more useful... Thanks to all who help.
