Is Fair Shares a good fit for you?

If you are interested in joining Fair Shares but are hesitant to commit, we are offering the opportunity for potential members to check out our program for two pickups before signing up. You can purchase two shares, either consecutive or alternate weeks, at our main Fair Shares pickup site at Kingshighway and I-44.

This is a great opportunity to see what the shares are like. Come check out the tremendous variety of local food available--sample the fresh produce, try the happy meats, cheeses and grains--and experience the pleasure of what it means to eat seasonally.

You'll choose a Wednesday or Thursday, and come to pick up at our main Fair Shares pickup site at Kingshighway and I-44 during our regular pickup hours, 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. We'll give you an orientation, explain how our program works, help you get your food and make trades, and answer any questions you have.

The two-week membership will cost $110* ($55 per week) due at your first pickup. Email us at and let us know whether you would like to come on Wednesdays or Thursdays and if you would like two consecutive weeks or two alternate weeks. You may bring your credit card or a check made out to Fair Shares to your first pickup.

* We also offer the two week Mini trial for $75, or you can try a week of each the full and mini size for $92.50.

Please Bring Your Own Bags. You'll get a couple of fancy Fair Shares bags when you join and pay the $50 membership fee.

You can see what's in all the shares right now.

Our system allows for customizing by giving members the option to trade out all non-produce items in their share and select from other items in our online store. Normally, we would just have you come in and we could explain and show you everything in person, but for the time being, we’re doing curbside pickup only, and the Trial Share regime is completely online—let me know if you have any questions after reading the info below.

Pickups are Wednesdays or Thursdays at our main pickup site (aka the Mothership, 5021 Northrup, on The Hill) from 3:30-7p.m. Wednesdays are much busier than Thursdays at the moment, so if you can come Thursday, it will be much faster for you.

You can sign up with a guest account at the link below after reading through the instructions, and select the Trial Share size you would like.

We post the share lists in the newsletter on Tuesdays, and then allow members to login and swap out tradable (non produce) items and select replacements and extras from the online store. Please note that if you select other items from the store before we send the newsletter on Tuesday, you will not have the option to make trades, and any items you choose may not be available, as our inventory, ordering, deliveries and updating of the online store takes place between Friday and Tuesday each week. Therefore, feel free to browse, but please do not place any items but your 1 Week Trial shares in your cart before you receive the newsletter on Tuesday evening. If you select one of each size share, we will give you the full share first unless you request otherwise.

Here is our FAQ page which you should read, especially the Fair Shares 101 and Trades and Orders.
Here is the link to select the trial size and create a guest account.

If you would like to continue on after the Two-Week Trial, we have a $50 one-time membership fee that allows you to continue on and take a share or just shop from our online store with a Build Your Own Membership. The membership works on pre-paid credit and requires you to select a payment plan and keep a $75 minimum on your account, which allows us to keep our large inventory for member trades and pay our producers on delivery.

If you’re ready to just go ahead and sign up, you can do so here.

As both a vendor and a member, I've found Fair Shares to be a wonderful organization to be a part of. It has opened my eyes to a whole range of farmers/producers in the region that I may never have had the opportunity to come in contact with if it weren't for my involvement with Fair Shares. And you folks all rock!
