We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, ODD-week half-share and Delivered-share members tomorrow and Thursday.

We are officially in the countdown to the end of Season 9, with FOUR pickups to go until Week 48 on March 1st and 2nd. We take the remainder of March off and resume pickups with Season 10 on April 5th and 6th.

If you started your annual commitment at the beginning of the season, and are NOT planning to stay in for Season 10, please let us know so we can cancel your recurring payments in time. Otherwise, if you are on recurring payments and planning to stay in, or if you began mid-season, you do not need to contact us. If you are unsure of your commitment date, or don't plan to stay in, or if you have questions, email info@fairshares.org.

* Delivered Share Members: We made a double-share delivery last week so no delivery this week. If you would like to come shop at the Mothership, we are open 3:30-7:00 on Wednesday and Thursday.

Trades and Additional Purchases

Please include your pickup group in your trades and orders emails (this is your name and your assigned pickup group/Delivery location that we sent you when you joined. We have over 400 members in 24 different groups, and we're really good, but...it sure will save us time. Thanks!

Remember, fresh produce IS NOT tradable, but you're welcome to order extra. You can read the rules of trading and the price lists on the Trades and Orders page of our website (note you must be logged in to access this page).

Pickup members place orders by noon. 
Delivered-share members, please email by noon Wednesday OR wait until after you've received the Wednesday evening newsletter and order by 9:30a.m. Thursday. (Because we may no longer have certain items available, please check the Wednesday evening newsletter for the updated produce list). Email orders@fairshares.org -- you can just reply to this email.

SOLD OUT: Dark meat and white mean chicken cuts, cut-up chickens are sold out, but can be thawed and cut for us (which means that re-freezing, which although safe, may affect quality, so should otherwise be used within a week). If you want any of those, order by Sunday for delivery that week. 

Boneless Chicken Breast Special: ~5.lb. package, $6.50/lb. frozen.
Defrosted Boneless Chicken Breast 2-pk. $8.00/lb. These have been defrosted and although they are safe to refreeze, the texture and quality may be affected, but they will be fine for a week in the fridge before cooking. Limited, but Matt would love if we order lots of it for next week.

We've ordered another delivery because of the intense popularity. We have chops (shoulder, leg, loin, and Frenched rib) racks, sausages, stew meat, bone-in and boneless legs--in addition to ground.

These decadent cupcakes filled with Salted Caramel Chocolate Sauce are sure to win over your sweety with their rich, gooey deliciousness, leaving wistful memories that will last the whole year. - Pumpkin Risotto: $11. The pumpkin is from Double Star Farm . With wine-poached raisins, goat cheese, cardamom, and pepita.
- Anchovy Tomato Sauce $10. Simple yet intense and flavorful. Mama mia! Only a few left.
- Strawberry Tamarind Dressing/Marinade: $7.50. Great as a marinade for roasted chicken! Put a little fruity spring cheer in your winter meal. ONLY 1 LEFT.


Wild Alaska Salmon, Cod and Halibut

$13.75/lb. Available in whole fillets, smaller portion fillets, or smoked &7/75/pk. (traditional, peppered, or candy).
Pacific Cod ($11.30/lb. varying ~.5-.8lb. fillet)
Black Cod ($33.25/lb. varying ~.4-.7lb. fillets)
Halibut ($25.95/lb. 4 steaks ~1.1-1.3lb.)

Ozark Forest Mushroom Miso Paste: $4/3oz. tub? (I'm not actually sure what the price will be on these will be--they are being delivered in the morning). This is frozen, and stays soft enough that you can scoop out a spoonful at a time as you need it. Mix with rice vinegar for a delicious salad dressing or marinade for fish. Add a little plain yogurt to that to make it a creamy sauce--so good.


Apple Cider (frozen): $5.50/.5 gallon. It's that time of the year when a big hot mug of spiced--and maybe spiked--apple cider is just so soothing and satisfying (especially in front of the fire). 


Spinach: $3.50/.5lb.
Lettuce: $3.50/.5lb.

Shoots: $4.00. Don't yet know if we'll get sunflower, pea or a combo. Limited.

Carrots: $3.50/lb.
Golden Ball Turnips: $2.75/lb. Certified organic from Blue Heron Orchard.
White Turnips: $2.25/lb.

Sunchokes: $2.75/.75lb. Boil until tender and puree with a little butter, garlic and plain Greek yogurt, salt and pepper. Serve over your bed of sauteed greens and under your trout for a flavorful layer of depth and texture. You may like to blend them with your mashed potatoes, even.

Sweet Potatoes: $3.50/2lb.
Sweet Potato Seconds: half price. IF AVAILABLE.

Yukon Gold Potatoes: $3.50/2lb.

Ozark Forest Shiitakes, Oyster Mushrooms, or a Mix: $7.00

We're reaching the final pickup of the season, so what do you need to stock up on for the month off? There are so few items on the lists that are not tradable that we have decided to simplify our receipt writing and make a Trade All option. We will add up the value of all tradable items and post it at the end of the food lists.
