Welcome to Fair Shares Week 12!

We'll see all Full-share, Mini-share, Delivered-share and EVEN-week Half-share members on Wednesday and Thursday.

Fair Shares field trip to CIRCUS FLORA, next Tuesday June 25th!
See the email sent earlier or see the article below.

 Christmas in July

Not really, but that's what it will feel like when we take the week of 4th of July off! Since Independence Day is on a Thursday, we will skip the week. This will be Week 14, which is in two weeks, and rather than mess with the numbers and confuse the ENTIRE membership, we will just put everyone who regularly would have a pickup that week on hold. This way the ODD-week half shares won't have their routines affected at all. Delivered, Mini and Full shares will skip one week.

EVEN-week half shares, THIS IS YOUR FINAL PICKUP BEFORE THE BREAK. It will be a whole month before your next share, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Thank you to our generous members who have offered to donate the week's share. We so appreciate you!
This is your Official Notice #3.

Although we would prefer you give it as a gift or as partial payment to the house/pet sitter, we are now able to accommodate your vacations, but we must have ample notice so that we don't order the produce for you! You may log in to your account to put your share on hold, but if your request is made after the Sunday midnight deadline, you will be charged for the non-perishables in your share. Thanks for understanding.

Notes on Trades and Orders
Please do not add items to your cart until your tradable share items have been added. Note that the share clipboards in the newsletter will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart because it will not be added back to your account. If you are trading for meat or fish that is priced per pound, you may want to email (reply to this email) to let us know your intention, e.g. whether you are trying to trade close to even, or whether you are looking for three packages of boneless thighs versus three pounds of boneless thighs. With the variability of package sizes and the limitations of the online store listing, sometimes it's helpful to avoid big surprises when we have to guess.

If you order before receiving the newsletter, you may see a discrepancy in pricing or availability because we don't send the newsletter until we've updated the store.

Login to your account to swap items from your cart and add extras. Remember you can customize your cheese, yogurt, gyro, Del Carmen and other choices by switching these items in your cart.

Fair Shares Mothership and UCity Pickup Members: The online store closes at 11am on the day of your pickup, so be sure to login and make your trades before then.

Kirkwood and Delivered Share Members: You have until 9:00 on Thursday morning to place orders.

Sad news: This is probably the end of the strawberries.

Great news:

As you can see, we're pretty excited about it, and we bought a lot to sell. The red, white and blueberry holiday is coming up, so what are you going to make? Blueberry slump? Blueberry pie? Blueberry granita?  Maybe you half shares need to order extras to freeze for your month off.

Order Extra Milk, Heavy Cream and Half-n-Half for the Holiday

Next week is your last chance to get the ingredients for all your holiday dishes since we're closed for the Fourth of July. Making ice cream or whipped cream for the upcoming holiday? We have only a few on-hand, and since we don't want to be stuck with out of date heavy cream or half and half, we're going to require pre-orders. Please email orders@fairshares.org by the Friday before pickup and let us know how many pints of heavy cream ($4.75/pt) or Half n Half ($3/pt). you would like. You may request a standing order.
If you regular milk purchasers would like to get extra milk for our week off, please email Jamie by 3p.m. Sunday.
Join us for a Fair Shares outing to Circus Flora on Tuesday, June 25th at 6:00p.m. We'll gather in the hospitality tent for happy hour, followed by the show, then back to the hospitality tent to rub elbows with the talent and crew--fun! Order your tickets in the Produce - Fruit Section in the online store.Read more
The long thin ribbons created by using a vegetable peeler give a nice texture and exciting twist to the squash, which after many weeks in the shares will be a necessary distraction. Maybe we'll post this recipe again later, but put this idea in the back of your brain, just in case. Of course, if you try it now, it will likely become part of your regular squash routine.Read more
This amazingly delicious dish is a perfect example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. The few ingredients in this recipe elevate raw zucchini to a whole new level. I will definitely be creating numerous variations of this in the future.Read more
