Welcome to Week 5!

We'll see all Full Shares, ODD-week Half Shares, Mini Shares and Delivered Shares this week

Cinco De Derby Day
Are you having to choose between a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and a Derby Day Party?
Poor you! But really, why not just combine them and make it an all-inclusive, multi-cultural, equal-opportunity celebration? But..what to wear?
Everyone knows it's all about the hat!

To help you celebrate in good taste, we have some new salsa, hot pickled garlic and sweet and sour pickles from Mr. B's Salsa. Limited quantity this week, but Mr. or Mrs. B. will be at the Mothership to sample their products next Wednesday the 9th, so be here to try it and vote on the items we should carry. Check the store for this week's availability.

This Wednesday (tomorrow, May 2), Todd of Todd's Treats will be here to sample and sell his amazing toffee, for those of you who come before 6 (he'll only be here that late if supplies last).

A Note About the Ordering Online
Our system is less than perfect (stunning, we know). Because of the nature of our trading system at pickups, along with our lack of time available for updating the nearly 780 items in the store for before both Wednesday and Thursday pickups, we often find that the inventory is inaccurate. If we are out of something you request, we may contact you if time allows, or send an alternative option. You can always trade it and select something different from the swap items available at your pickup site.

Please do not add anything to your cart before we have filled it with your tradable share items.
We fill the carts in Farmigo on Tuesday afternoon and send the newsletters early Tuesday evening. The share clipboards in the newsletter include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items. You may want to wait for the newsletter to see what produce is in your share before making your trades. You must spend the total credit value in your cart because it will not be added back to your account.

If you are ordering something that is priced per pound, keep in mind that the variability of package sizes and the limitations of the online store listing sometimes leads to surprises. We try to note average size in the description, but you might want to email if you don't like surprises.

The online store closes at noon** on the day of your pickup because it takes us that long to create the reports, gather the orders and get all set up for pickups. If you miss the opportunity to make trades within your account, or if you forgot something or prefer to just browse availability when you come in, you are more than welcome to do so at your pickup.

**Delivered Share members have until 9:30 on Thursday morning to place orders. Note you do not have an opportunity to make trades at your delivery site, so online is your only option, and thus, we encourage you to visit the Mothership so you can acquaint yourself with what is available.

Login to your Farmigo account to swap out the tradable items in your cart.

D&M Farms in Breese, IL just brought us some lamb -- chops, ground and shanks, as well as lamb gyro burgers, both plain (spiced) and with spinach & feta cheese. Limited quantities because we wanted to make sure they're delicious before over-committing. The verdict is, gyro burgers: thumbs up! If you want to sub in some already spiced meat in this recipe, you can say you're doing it in the name of science, not just because you're lazy busy.Read more
Everyone says sexy food pics entice people to try a recipe, so enjoy! This simple gratin can be altered, adjusted, seasoned as you see fit, but the simplicity here really allows the pure, delicious flavors of the produce to shine. Plus, heavy cream? I ask you, what could be bad?Read more
I always wonder why meatloaf gets slated as a humdrum dish, when it's so delicious and satisfying, and leftovers are always appreciated.Read more
Try serving your hot protein and cooked veggies atop a crispy cool salad instead of on a bun or over pasta. The contrast of hot and cold along with the variety of textures makes for a very satisfying supper, as well as cutting down on the carbs.Read more
SO easy and a different way to enjoy the spinach. We substituted Marcoot Cave-aged Tomme for the parmesan, but you could use scamorza or any aged grating cheese. It was delicious with fresh pasta.Read more
