Welcome to Week 40!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, EVEN-week half-share and Delivered-share members this week.

Happy New Year
We are officially in the count down to the end of Fair Shares Season 11! After this week, we have 8 weeks remaining before our March break.

Trades and Orders

Please login to your Fair Shares account in Farmigo to make trades and order extras. The tradable items in your share are listed in your cart. You can delete the items you don't want and add in other items from the store.

Please note that we're not doing much store updating this week because it's a holiday and we need the break, so feel free to email (or ask at your pickup) if you aren't finding something.

Online Store Order Deadlines:

- 11 a.m. Wednesday for Wednesday pickup groups
- 9 a.m. Thursday for Delivered shares
- 12:00 Noon Thursday for Thursday pickup groups

We don't have lots of fresh produce, but still enough to enjoy eating locally in the winter. Now is the time to fill your larder with all the staples you'll need for our upcoming break. We're putting plenty of staples in the shares for you to try, but feel free to trade them out for the items you'd prefer.

We prefer Thursday pickup groups wait until Wednesday evening before ordering:
Please note that on-premise sales may make the numbers in the store inventory moot. In the event that we are out of any items you ordered, we will either email, send substitutes or omit the item (depending on how much time we have). Any questions, email orders@fairshares.org.

Please join our community on social media, where fellow members share stories, photos, recipes and tips on how to use all the fun food in your shares.

Don't Despair about Your Share! This time of the year isn't very abundant in the fresh produce department, so now is the time to explore the wonderful world of "value-added foods" we offer from the area. This utterly unappetizing term is the industry name used for all the lovely produce that has been processed and canned or frozen or dried for our winter shares.Read more
Bittersweet Artisan Truffles has a delectible suggestion for how to use their Bourbon Butterscotch Sauce. This is a great time to test it out while carrots are available. If anyone needs a taste tester, we're here for you.Read more
This recipe was inspired and adapted from Madhur Jaffrey's recipe in Quick and Easy Indian Cooking. It was as delicious as leftovers as it was the first night. Perfect with my favorite Indian Stir-fried Cabbage with Fennel Seeds dish--so intoxicatingly aromatic.Read more
This is one of my favorite combinations. The spicy and creamy texture in a rich, hearty soup is so satisfying. Use any winter squash here--the kabochas or buttercup have a nice, dense texture, perfect for a thick soup that can double as a side dish.Read more
This is a recycled recipe that can be substituted with any winter squash variety and grain or legume... Desperate times call for desperate measures, and my refrigerator has never felt so lonely and abandoned as it does now. Rather than despair, I pretended it was creativity rather than lack of supplies that led to last night's meal. It did have a bit of the monochrome blues, but all in all, was quite a tasty dish.Read more
We had dinner with Estie of Del Carmen beans, and brought stuffed acorn squash. She was trying to remember the name in Spanish that night, to no avail. She sent an email with the name, and a recipe she found in Spanish, and translated for us here!Read more
