Important Update on Meat Orders from the Store

Due to the challenge of selling meats online by the pound without the ability to request the number of packages versus pieces versus weight, we have decided to attempt to update the descriptions with the average quantity of pieces and weight range of the various cuts of meat. We request that you order the number of packages you would like. We will make the price in the store a typical package price and will update with the actual price. You are welcome to email us with details on whether you are seeking a specific weight or number of pieces.

For example, boneless chicken breasts are usually two to a package and average one pound. If you want two packages (four breasts), you will order two packages. If you are looking for a minimum of three pounds and you don't care how many breasts or packages it takes, you can enter "1" and email us with any instructions. We will do our best to get the store updated with accurate info, but keep in mind that some items vary wildly in size and weight--like the chicken breasts, that just showed up today in larger than normal packages. When we get different sizes week to week, and when deliveries don't come in until Wednesday, it makes keeping this info updated next to impossible, so just email us to tell us what you want.

Keeping the inventory in the store accurate is next to impossible with our system and schedule, so if we are out of something you request, we may contact you if time allows, or send an alternative option. You can always trade it and select something different from the swap items available at your pickup site (sorry, this option is not available to Delivery to Groups members). If you're looking for something you don't see, just email/ask because we might have it even if it isn't in the store.

Delivered share members must order by 9:00am on your delivery day.
Pickup members must order by noon on your pickup day.

Login to your Farmigo account to swap out the tradable items in your cart.

This amazingly delicious dish is a perfect example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. The few ingredients in this recipe elevate raw zucchini to a whole new level. I will definitely be creating numerous variations of this in the future.Read more
This recipe is from the fabulous Jerusalem : A Cookbook - By Yotam Ottolenghi‎ . The photos make you immediately want to be preparing (or at least eating) the recipes you're looking at. This is the first recipe I tried from the book, and probably the closest I've come to following a recipe in a good long time.Read more
The name of the recipe sort of says it all. You can use equal proportions, or more or less of any depending on your tastes, or what you have available. This salad is so fresh it deserves a slap on the face. It also makes a delicious salsa once the hot peppers are in season.Read more
This recipe is from Cooking Light, but I usually take out all references to "light" "low-fat" and "fat-free" because I think that fake stuff will kill you! Enjoy everything in moderation, but enjoy it fully!Read more
It's peach and tomato season, which means it's time for a reminder that Fair Shares is not a grocery store. Unlike a grocery, we don't buy in lots of extra produce to account for the amount of waste that grocery stores experience because they allow customers to touch every peach and tomato, squeezing, battering and bruising it until it's ready for the compost heap! Also unlike a grocery store, we purchase tomatoes ripe off the vine, so the flavor and nutrients are at their peak. The heirloom varieties are so delicate that we have to purchase them a bit under-ripe in order for them to make it ...Read more
The trick to making this rich, intensely-flavored summer treat so delicious is roasting it to within an inch of its life, allowing the juices to concentrate and caramelize. Serve over pasta, rice, polenta, cooked greens or crostini, or fold into an omelet or a sandwich. Seriously, wow--this is the secret to falling in love with ANY vegetable, and I mean ANY...Read more
