Welcome to Week 42!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, EVEN-week half-share and Delivered-share members this week.

Seven!
We are officially in the count down to the end of Fair Shares Season 11! After this week, we have six weeks remaining before our March break.

Trades and Orders

Please check your list at the bottom of the newsletter and note that we may be giving a choice, or more info there than what is listed in your cart. Login to your Fair Shares account in Farmigo to make trades and order extras. The tradable items in your share are listed in your cart. You can delete the items you don't want and add in other items from the store.

Ordering Deadlines:
11a.m. Wednesday for Wednesday pickup groups
Noon Thursday for Thursday pickup groups
9 a.m. Delivered Share members

If you're a half share wanting to order from the store on your off weeks, let us know and we'll set up your cart to handle that. Otherwise, you can just come on in and shop in person during regular pickup hours.

Now is the time to fill your larder with all the staples you'll need for our upcoming break. Feel free to customize your share to include what you and your family like.

Thursday pickup groups: we often don't have time to pull Thursday orders on Wednesday, and we may not have everything available if you ordered before the store update Wednesday evening.

Please note that on-premise sales may make the numbers in the store inventory moot. In the event that we are out of any items you ordered, we will either email, send substitutes or omit the item (depending on how much time we have). Any questions, email orders@fairshares.org.

Several members have been talking about doing the Whole 30, which inspired my to do another round of my personal Whole30Minutes, and to look up some recipes to see what it's all about. I found a recipe for Thai Curry Veggie Noodles with Chicken that sounded good, but the similarity of spiralized raw vegetables to actual noodles was going to leave me wanting, so instead I created my own version, called it slaw, and served it with gyro meat in a pita. It was the stuff of fantasies.Read more

Known as Cabello de Angel, this typically Spanish filling or topping for pastries found in most regions of the country really is quite tasty. Jamie found this recipe in a Spanish cookbook from the antique mall. Yum!Read more
It's all about the presentation. This dish made with the chioggia beets and their lovely candy stripes is definitely guest-worthy. But with this delicious miso vinaigrette, you may just want to eat it all by yourself.Read more
Miso paste is an amazing little gem to use for the base of salad dressings and marinades. It's a fermented soy paste that is salty and full of that earthy umame flavor--especially when made with mushrooms, like Ozark Forest's Mushroom Miso Paste. Try this delicious recipe as a salad dressing or veggie dip, or as a marinade for fish or meat.Read more
