This is your final share for the season. Full, Mini, Delivered and ODD-week half shares, your next pickup will be April 4/5.
EVEN-week Half-share members (picking up this week): Your next pickup will be April 11/12.

Shopping Day Happy Hour
We will have a shopping day happy hour on Wednesday March 28, so you can pick up your Easter Hams and other goodies for the holiday weekend. We're making it happy hour so it's fun! Come have a drink and a nibble and get excited for the start of Season 11.

Produce for Sale - we have more of the same produce available (golden beets, watermelon and purple daikon--aka purple heart--radishes, turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut, spaghetti and acorn squash, plus spinach, lettuce, bok choy and kale. Check the store. 

Trades and Orders

Please login to your Fair Shares account in Farmigo to make trades and order extras. The tradable items in your share are listed in your cart. You can delete the items you don't want and add in other items from the store.
 - Members who pickup at Fair Shares UCity and Kirkwood, the online store is open only until noon on the day of your pickup, but if you don't make it into your account before then, you are still welcome to make trades at your pickup site.
 - Delivered Share members must order online by 9:30 on Thursday morning.
 - Now is the time to fill your larder with all the staples you'll need for the break--which includes Easter and (the start of) Passover. Feel free to customize your share to include what you and your family like. 

Order Your Ham Now!
Half, boneless hams from Todd Geisert are available in the store. $8/lb. Maybe 5lb. to 7lb. average. If you want to purchase now, we will put your name on it and store it for you for Easter (we'll be having a shopping day happy hour on March 28th when you can pick it up.)

We request Thursday pickup groups wait until after Wednesday pickups are over before ordering.
If you need to place your order on Tuesday or Wednesday, please note that we will not get to it until Thursday, and Wednesday on-premise sales may make the numbers in the store inventory moot. In the event that we are out of any items you ordered, we will either email, send substitutes or omit the item (depending on how much time we have). If there's something you want that isn't in the store, feel free to email because we just may have it. Any questions, email orders@fairshares.org.

So Many Choices
The final weeks of the season are always a challenge, and I'm not even talking about the sad prospect of not seeing all your lovely faces for a month! I'm referring to the logistical dilemma of having plenty of everything available for members to stock up for the break without being stuck with a lot of perishable food left that won't hold over until pickups resume. The solution is to offer all that perishable stuff in the shares as we get closer to the end of pickups on Thursday. Therefore Thursday pickups at the Mothership should expect there to be a lot of choices in place of the tradable items in your share.

This is a recycled recipe that can be substituted with any winter squash variety and grain or legume... Desperate times call for desperate measures, and my refrigerator has never felt so lonely and abandoned as it does now. Rather than despair, I pretended it was creativity rather than lack of supplies that led to last night's meal. It did have a bit of the monochrome blues, but all in all, was quite a tasty dish.Read more
Some people are a little iffy about or uninspired by root veggies, and let them sit in the fridge until they are in a state that leaves no future but the compost heap. One way to sweeten up--and sometimes even disguise a root veggie you or your family is suspect of--is to throw it in the oven and roast it until it caramelizes.Read more
I found the recipe for Indian-Spiced Salmon Fillets and just used all the spices in my approximately one pound of flaked salmon meat. I was concerned that it might be a bit heavy on the spices because the recipe called for four 6 oz. fillets, but I erred on the side of excess, and was rewarded for my efforts! This spice combo would work well with other meats and tofu as well.Read more
