Welcome to Week 47!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, ODD-week half-share and Delivered-share members this week.

Packing For a Guilt Trip
If you have borrowed any of the cloth bags (aka guilt bags) from Fair Shares in the past, we request that you return them so we can continue to cover you and other members who find themselves picking up without their bags. That was just a short trip, huh? Not too much guilt at all. Thanks!

Season 10 Ends NEXT WEEK
After this week, we have only ONE week remaining before our March break.
ODD-week Half-share members: this is your FINAL pickup of the season. Your next pickup will be April 4/5.

Better start thinking about what you will need to stock up on for the weeks off.

We will have a shopping day happy hour on Wednesday March 28, so you can pick up your goodies for the holiday weekend. We're making it happy hour so it's fun! Come have a drink and a nibble and get excited for the start of Season 11.

Produce for Sale - we have more of the same produce available (leeks, golden beets, watermelon and purple daikon--aka purple heart--radishes, turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, plus spinach, lettuce and kale. Check the store.

Trades and Orders

Please login to your Fair Shares account in Farmigo to make trades and order extras. The tradable items in your share are listed in your cart. You can delete the items you don't want and add in other items from the store.
 - Members who pickup at Fair Shares UCity and Kirkwood, the online store is open only until noon on the day of your pickup, but if you don't make it into your account before then, you are still welcome to make trades at your pickup site.
 - Delivered Share members must order online by 9:30 on Thursday morning.
 - Now is the time to fill your larder with all the staples you'll need for our upcoming break--which includes Easter and (the start of) Passover. Feel free to customize your share to include what you and your family like.

Order Your Ham Now!
Half, boneless hams from Todd Geisert are available in the store. $8/lb. Maybe 5lb. to 7lb. average. If you want to purchase now, we will put your name on it and store it for you for Easter (we'll be having a shopping day happy hour on March 28th when you can pick it up.)

We request Thursday pickup groups wait until after Wednesday pickups are over before ordering.
If you need to place your order on Tuesday or Wednesday, please note that we will not get to it until Thursday, and Wednesday on-premise sales may make the numbers in the store inventory moot. In the event that we are out of any items you ordered, we will either email, send substitutes or omit the item (depending on how much time we have). If there's something you want that isn't in the store, feel free to email because we just may have it. Any questions, email orders@fairshares.org.

Try this super-filling, satisfyingly spicy meatless meal made entirely from Fair Shares winter ingredients (all except the sesame oil). It's simple, but exceedingly delicious.Read more
Two different members last week told Jamie about how delicious the cod is when prepared with sauteed leeks and pecans, so I made up a version of my own. Some of you may think the name sounds a bit like the Scottish chicken and leek soup named Cock-a-Leekie, but aside from that and the fact that there are leeks in the recipe, all similarities end there.Read more
This is one of my favorite combinations. The spicy and creamy texture in a rich, hearty soup is so satisfying. Use any winter squash here--the kabochas or buttercup have a nice, dense texture, perfect for a thick soup that can double as a side dish.Read more
This is a fast and easy (also lazy) lunch that tastes like dessert! Don't tell the kids it's good for them.Read more
In the mood for noodles with Thai peanut sauce, or maybe a gooey, cheesy lasagna? Is Mexican striking your fancy tonight? Asian fusion? Go on, prepare it with spaghetti squash.Read more
It's the perfect time of year for this sort of rich, spicy dish. The aromas are positively intoxicating. I'm sure those of you smarty pants with an instant pot will adjust the recipe accordingly and have dinner ready before the rest of us. Enjoy!Read more
