Welcome to Week 38!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, EVEN-week half-share members this week.
NO DELIVERED SHARES THIS WEEK -- last week was a double share, so we will be delivering next on January 4th.

Merry New Year!

Since so many of you are away next week between Christmas and New Year's, we have put all December 27th and 28th shares on hold and will take that week off.  We're still counting it as Week 39, so odd-week half shares will not be back for a scheduled pickup before Week 40 on January 10-11. Feel free to shop this week or the first week of January for anything you need before then.

Everyone else, we'll see you January 4th and 5th

Trades and Orders

Please login to your Fair Shares account in Farmigo to make trades and order extras. The tradable items in your share are listed in your cart. You can delete the items you don't want and add in other items from the store. Remember, the store is open only until noon on the day of your pickup, and Delivered Share members have from now until until 9:30 on Thursday morning to place orders.

We have a few half, boneless hams from Todd Geisert available in the store. $8/lb. Aprroximately 7lb. (don't know the range--they are coming tomorrow).

We request Thursday pickup groups wait until after Wednesday pickups are over before ordering.
Please note that on-premise sales may make the numbers in the store inventory moot. In the event that we are out of any items you ordered, we will either email, send substitutes or omit the item (depending on how much time we have).  Any questions, email orders@fairshares.org.

Give the Gift of Food
It's not too late! Whether you give a gift basket of Fair Shares goodies, a Two-week Full or Mini Trial Share or just a Gift Certificate for an amount you'd like to give as a gift in local, happy food, we are happy to help your friends, family and loved ones eat healthier and safer, and support local producers and the local economy. It's a win-win-win-win. Contact us to discuss some options, or let us know what you'd like to do.

May we also remind you that local food makes great hostess gifts. Don't show up to a holiday party empty handed - put a bow on a jar of Bittersweet Artisan Truffles Salted Caramel Chocolate Sauce, or maybe some Lava Cakes!

I have made this so many times I hardly need the recipe anymore. Perfect with roast meat, especially pork. Also good cold or room temperature the next day.Read more
This recipe was inspired and adapted from Madhur Jaffrey's recipe in Quick and Easy Indian Cooking. It was as delicious as leftovers as it was the first night. Perfect with my favorite Indian Stir-fried Cabbage with Fennel Seeds dish--so intoxicatingly aromatic.Read more
The photo looks a bit psychedelic with the purple cabbage and bright green vitamin greens, but really, it's food. It's a big, thick, juicy cabbage steak. What? Mmmmm... Trust me on this. The giant green cabbages we got in this week will be perfect prepared like this.Read more
Nothing beats Pot Roast for Sunday night dinner on a cold night, and with all the major ingredients from Fair Shares, this is a locavore's delight. I was proud of myself for having the forethought to take photos as I went, but I missed a few, especially the ones of the finished dish. Oops...a food blogger I am not!Read more
This is a fun learning experience for the kiddoes--not to mention most adults--who have never seen popcorn on the cob. There's no need to shuck the kernals from the ears, although you are welcome to do so if you prefer your popper- or pan-popped corn.Read more
This isn't a recipe, it's a sob story--in two parts. Cry with me here (it has a happy ending)...Read more
