Welcome to Week 37!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, ODD-week half-share and Delivered-share members this week.

Winter Holiday Schedule - PLEASE READ THIS
Jamie is going to visit Kevin, Arianna and Fiona in England for the holiday and will be gone next week, so anyone with a little time to spare, please let us know. Otherwise, extra patience will be appreciated.
Since many of you are away the week between Christmas and New Year's, we will put all scheduled shares on hold and take that week off. So, please shop accordingly because:
Weekly Pickup members -  next week is your final pickup before the holiday. If you would like an extra milk for next week please let us know by Sunday morning.
Odd-week half share members -  this is your final pickup of the year and your next pickup isn't for A MONTH, on January 10-11!  Although we did not purchase extra milk this week, we would be happy to order milk for you to pick up next week if you email orders@fairshares.org.

Delivered share members -  we have decided to make this week a double share, like the week before Thanksgiving, meaning this is your final delivery until January 4th. We apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause for those of you who get milk weekly. Although we did not purchase extra milk this week, we would be happy to order milk for you to pick up at the Mothership next week if you email orders@fairshares.org.

Trades and Orders

Please login to your Fair Shares account in Farmigo to make trades and order extras. The tradable items in your share are listed in your cart. You can delete the items you don't want and add in other items from the store. Remember, the store is open only until noon on the day of your pickup, and Delivered Share members have from now until until 9:30 on Thursday morning to place orders.

We request Thursday pickup groups wait until after Wednesday pickups are over before ordering, and please note that on-premise sales may make the numbers in the store inventory moot. In the event that we are out of any items you ordered, we will either email, send substitutes or omit the item (depending on how much time we have).  Any questions, email orders@fairshares.org.

Please join our community on social media, where fellow members share stories, photos, recipes and tips on how to use all the fun food in your shares.

Give the Gift of Food
As we go stampeding toward the holiday season, we would like to encourage you to give the gift of happy, local food! Whether you give a gift basket of Fair Shares goodies, a Two-week Full or Mini Trial Share or just a Gift Certificate for an amount you'd like to give as a gift in local, happy food, we are happy to help your friends, family and loved ones eat healthier and safer, and support local producers and the local economy. It's a win-win-win-win. Contact us to discuss some options, or let us know what you'd like to do.

May we also remind you that local food makes great teacher gifts. Order ahead and let us take the burden off you to get all that shopping done.

This is a fun learning experience for the kiddoes--not to mention most adults--who have never seen popcorn on the cob. There's no need to shuck the kernals from the ears, although you are welcome to do so if you prefer your popper- or pan-popped corn.Read more

This is like a pie on steroids, with a delicious flaky crust; and it's impressive to look at.Read more
Nothing beats Pot Roast for Sunday night dinner on a cold night, and with all the major ingredients from Fair Shares, this is a locavore's delight. I was proud of myself for having the forethought to take photos as I went, but I missed a few, especially the ones of the finished dish. Oops...a food blogger I am not!Read more
Roasting chestnuts is easy, but the preparation can seem laborious if you aren't in love with chestnuts like I am, or if you don't use the right tool, or if you haven't done it numerous times. It's worth it, I asure, and I would be happy to give a demonstration if you pick up at the Mothership.Read more
