Welcome to Week 33!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, ODD-week half-share and Delivered-share members this week.

Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK, and we need turkey orders by tomorrow, Wednesday, November 15th!

If you would like to purchase a fresh, free-range, pastured, hormone and anti-biotic free turkey for Thanksgiving this year, please see the details here.

Companion Bread
If you are interested in Companion dinner rolls, they come in white or whole wheat, 2 dozen per bag for $8.25. We will sell them split into 12-packs for $4.50/dozen. If you want to look on Companion's website and request other breads they offer, feel free. We need bread orders INCLUDING THE WHETHER YOU WILL PICK UP ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY before noon on Friday the 17th. If you don't pick up the day you tell us, you may not get your bread or it will be frozen, which you would want to do if you don't plan to eat it until Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Week Schedule--all Fair Shares Mothership pickups will be Monday or Tuesday, (November 20th or 21st--your choice), and UCity and Kirkwood pickups will be on Tuesday the 21st.
Delivered share members will receive a double share this Thursday--no delivery the week of Thanksgiving.

Amazingly Delicious Pumpkin Soup
We still have large pumpkins (which look suspiciously like jack-o-lantern pumpkins) that will be good eating and we hate to see them go to waste (not to mention losing all that money on them. So buy a pumpkin and make this ridiculously simple yet exceedingly elegant soup for your Thanksgiving guests!
$5.00 ea. or two scary pumpkins for $5 (you'll need to cut out the bad parts).

Mini pumpkins $.50 ea.

Pin us, tag us, follow us...you know what to do. We could really use the help in getting more exposure, so please, post pics of your delicious Fair Shares food and let everyone know about fairshares.org!

THURSDAY PICKUP MEMBERS*: please wait until Wednesday evening to place your orders.
We only have time to fill the Wednesday pickup orders on Wednesday. Please note that we will not have time to inventory and update the store until after Wednesday pickups are over. Therefore any items ordered before 8p.m. may not be available by the time we are able to gather your orders on Thursday.

Because keeping the store inventory accurate is challenging with our schedule, we may overestimate availability so that it doesn't falsely show that we are out. Please understand that we may send a choice, or notify you by email that we need you to give us a second choice.

Make trades by logging into your account here: https://csa.farmigo.com/account/fairsharesccsa/combinedcsa

*Delivered-share members: please order by 9:30a.m. Thursday.

If you want to browse the store, but find it closed, you can log out of your account and just look around without ordering at this link: https://csa.farmigo.com/store/fairsharesccsa.

You are not required to make your trades and additional purchases ahead of your pickup, and you can always adjust or add on when you come in. If you would like to place your order through Farmigo, the tradable items in your share are listed in your Cart, as if you are purchasing the items, and you can delete/trade them in and select other items from the store. We still require you to spend the value of your trade and the credits will not carry over from week to week.

If you email your order, be sure to include your account name--which is your last name and pickup group, so we know where to send the food.

We're including some good Thanksgiving dishes that would be a great way to use the items in your shares. Have a happy and delicious Thanksgiving!
Our mother's recipe, which Jamie adapted to perfection with happy, local food. I didn't like it as a child. What a fool. This makes awesome cold leftovers, so be sure to make extra!Read more
This sweet, tart, crunchy and nutty cranberry Jello salad may well become a standard on your Thanksgiving table. It's so easy and so good as leftovers.Read more
A creamy, nutty soup topped with broiled cheese bread. Yes, please!Read more
Use celery root in similar preparations as potatoes--in soups, root veggie roasts, pan-fried, or boiled and mashed, as in this recipe. If the stalks are attached, freeze them in a zip-lock (along with the cleaned peels) to add to stocks.Read more
This flavor combo is sure to bring a smile to your face.Read more
Winter squash is such an easy-going, versatile ingredient, amenable to an amazing array of flavor profiles and cuisines. Sometimes it's difficult to decide whether to go Thai curry or Indian curry, Italian with brown-butter sage, or just make a simple rustic, all-American soup. This soup uses chevre, mushrooms and apple syrup, and is one of those recipes in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.Read more
