Welcome to Week 25!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, ODD-week half-share and Delivered share members tomorrow and Thursday.

THURSDAY PICKUP MEMBERS: We're sending the email a day early, but please wait until Wednesday evening to place your orders. Having Thursday's orders mixed in with Wednesday is too confusing. Please note that we will not have time to inventory and update the store until after Wednesday pickups are over, at 7p.m. Therefore any items ordered before 8p.m. may not be available by the time we are able to gather your orders. Although until we have fully developed our new system, we would prefer to overestimate the quantity of items available so that it doesn't falsely show that we are out, please understand that we may send a choice, or notify you by email that we need you to give us a second choice.

Note that next week is our annual September Sanity Break, so there are no pickups on Week 26, September 27th and 28th. Full and EVEN-week half-share members will skip a share, and you will notice on your account that we have put your share on hold for the week so that you will not be charged. So please feel free to stock up. Odd-week half share members picking up this week, this does not affect your pickups.

Congratulations to UCity INvolunteer Stephen Hale on receiving a free trip to Germany for 25 years of employment with Schlafly Beer! Unfortunately (ha ha), I have to go with him and we will be away for this week's pickups, ensuring that Jamie, Lindy and our wonderful volunteers get a full dose of insanity before the September Sanity Break the following week. If anyone has some time to spare, it is in your best interest...otherwise, be prepared to wait, and besure to offer a smile, or maybe a cocktail.

Request your Complimentary Tickets to The Healthy Planet's Natural Living Expo on Sunday, October 1st! Fair Shares will have a booth there, and Jamie and Lindy would love your company (I will be nursing a jet lag). We could really use some live-member testimonials, so if you would like to join us, we have a special incentive for you: Help us sign up people on-site for a Two-Week Trial and we'll enter your name in a drawing for a free week's share! Read more about the event here.

Retail Therapy
Most of you have gotten acquainted with our new system already, but if you haven't yet, please login to your new Member Account to make trades and place orders. Use your email and the password farmfresh for your first login--you'll be prompted to create a new password. Any items you delete (trade) from your cart will give you that amount of credit to spend. Please remember that trades don't carry over and you have to spend the value of your trade.

If you haven't yet selected a new payment plan, please note that recurring payments are no longer tied to the calendar, nor do they reflect a certain number of shares. You will need to select a payment amount that covers at least all of your shares for one month (Full Share members need to select at least $300; if you can afford to pay more in advance, we could really use the help). Click the Recurring payment box at the bottom to continue and enter your credit card info. You may change your payment plan at any time.

Really, nothing about the program is different from before, it's just a new way to track it, so jump in and try out the new shopping cart!

Please do not add items to your cart before we have added your tradable share items (this will be Tuesday afternoons)!
If you do, it will not populate your cart when we add your tradable items and we will need to add them manually. If/when this happens, we will be adding all your tradable items and you will need to let us know which items you wanted to trde.

We know the limited shopping window is a bit frustrating. We close the store after noon on your pickup day to avoid having orders that we won't see and that will charge on your account whether you received them or not. You are not required to make your trades and additional purchases ahead of your pickup, and you can always adjust or add on. The store opens back up on Friday, so you can look around, but unless you're spending lots of money so we can afford to go out for sushi more often, we would prefer you wait to fill your cart until we have loaded your tradable share items in it.

If you want to browse the store, but find it closed, you can log out of your account and just look around without ordering at this linkhttps://csa.farmigo.com/store/fairsharesccsa

We have been working on updating all the store items with accurate inventory, but because of the nature of our system and the way we sell to members, some things may not show up even though we have them (email if there's something you don't see), and some things may show up, but we're out of them. Also take a look at the other shares below--we'll be adding extra produce that's available in the store if/when we have time, but if you see something you like that isn't in the store, go ahead and email us.

You are not required to make your trades and additional purchases ahead of your pickup, and you can always adjust or add on when you come in--again, nothing has really changed (but online shopping is fun.

Your weekly share is still listed below and on the website. The tradable items in your share are listed in the Store when you click on your Cart. It presents it as if you are purchasing the items, and you can delete/trade them in and select other items from the store. We still require you to spend the value of your trade and the credits will not carry over from week to week. Do your best and we'll go from there.

*Delivered-share members: please order by 9:30a.m. Thursday.

If you email, be sure to include your account name--which is your last name and pickup group, so we know where to send the food.

Besides being a source of vitamins A, C, and K, hot peppers supposedly help burn fat deposits in the body. That alone gets me interested, but did you know that hot peppers are also believed to arrest the growth and division of cancer cells, act as an anti-inflammatory to help in the treatment of migraines, arthritis, and muscular pains, help fight colds, sinusitis, and bronchitis, improve blood circulation, have an anti-coagulant effect, be beneficial for stomach ailments, suppress appetite, combat depression, and in a dried state, kill bacteria and hasten the healing process? Sounds like the next wonder drug, right? Here are some suggestions on how to handle, eat and preserve those hot peppers.Read more
