Welcome to Week 24!

We look forward to seeing all full-share, mini-share, EVEN-week half-share and Delivered share members tomorrow and Thursday.

THURSDAY PICKUP MEMBERS, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL WEDNESDAY AFTER NOON TO ORDER! We may miss your order if you send it early!

Note that we have our annual sanity break the final week of September. We will be counting this as Week 26, so Full and EVEN-week half-share members will skip a share, and you all may feel free to shop for groceries on your off-weeks. EVEN share members, did you catch that? This is your final pickup until October 11th! That's a MONTH off! Go ahead and stock up.

Any IT folks want to help us figure out how to hook up our printer to our Wi-Fi so we can all print remotely? Anyone else who offered to help with computer time at home, please remind me (Sara)-- I have tasks!

Congratulations to UCity INvolunteer Stephen Hale on receiving a free trip to Germany for 25 years of employment with Schlafly Beer (I left 9 years too soon)! Unfortunately (ha ha), I have to go with him and we will be away on Wednesday and Thursday next week, ensuring that Jamie, Lindy and our wonderful volunteers get a full week of insanity before the September Sanity Break the follwoing week. If anyone has some time to spare, it is in your best interest...

Request your Complimentary Tickets to The Healthy Planet's Natural Living Expo on Sunday, October 1st! Fair Shares will have a booth there, and Jamie and Lindy would love your company (I will be nursing a jet lag). We could really use some live-member testimonials, so if you would like to join us, we have a special incentive for you: Help us sign up people on-site for a Two-Week Trial and we'll enter your name in a drawing for a free week's share!

Retail Therapy
Most of you have gotten acquainted with our new system already, but if you haven't yet, please login to your new Member Account to make trades and place orders. Use your email and the password farmfresh--you'll be prompted to create a new password the first time you login.

Any items you delete (trade) from your cart will give you that credit to spend. Please remember that trades don't carry over and you have to spend the value of your trade.

If you haven't yet select a new payment plan, please note that recurring payments are no longer tied to the calendar, nor do they reflect a certain number of shares. You will need to select a payment amount that covers at least all of your shares for one month (Full Share members need to select at least $300; if you can afford to pay more in advance, we could really use the help). Click the Recurring payment box at the bottom to continue and enter your credit card info. You may change your payment plan at any time.

Really, nothing about the program is different from before, it's just a new way to track it, so jump in and try out the new shopping cart!

IMPORTANT: Do not add items to your cart before we have added your tradable share items (this will be Tuesday afternoons)!
If you do, it will not populate your cart when we add your tradable items and we will need to add them grudgingly manually. We close the store after noon on your pickup day to avoid having orders that we won't see and that will charge on your account whether you received them or not. The store opens back up on Friday, but please avoid filling your cart until the weekend so we can make sure we've closed out the previous week's transactions.
You are not required to make your trades and additional purchases ahead of your pickup, and you can always adjust or add on--again, nothing has really changed.

If you want to browse the store, but find it closed, you can log out of your account and just look around without ordering at this linkhttps://csa.farmigo.com/store/fairsharesccsa.

Please do note that we haven't updated all items with accurate inventory yet, so some things may not show up even though we have them (email if there's something you don't see), and somethings may show up, but we're out of them. Also take a look at the other shares below--we'll be adding extra produce that's available in the store if/when we have time, but if you see something you like that isn't in the store, go ahead and email us.

You are not required to make your trades and additional purchases ahead of your pickup, and you can always adjust or add on--again, nothing has really changed (but online shopping is fun.

*Thanks to our amazing member volunteers. We love our volunteers and couldn't do it without you all (seriously, we can barely do it with you right now!).

We appreciate your patience again this week as we try out the new trades and order system, and we apologize in advance for the mistakes.

Trades and Additional Purchases

We are now attempting to use the online store in the new Farmigo system, but it's not as complete as we'd like, and is a work in progress. You can still email if you're having trouble, but we do hope to get everyone using the store Please read the information below before you login to your your account per the instructions in last Tuesday's email (login with your email and password farmfresh for the first time).

Your weekly share is still listed below and on the website. The tradable items in your share are listed in the Store when you click on your Cart. It presents it as if you are purchasing the items, and you can delete/trade them in and select other items from the store. We still require you to spend the value of your trade and the credits will not carry over from week to week. Do your best and we'll go from there.

*Delivered-share members: please order by 9:30a.m. Thursday.

If you email, be sure to include your account name--which is your last name and pickup group, so we know where to send the food.

Kitchen Kulture

We got some Okra Lentil Curry in this week, plus we have Corn Chowder, Yellow Tomato Gazpacho and Peach Miso Dressing, along with the usual suspects. See what all is available in the store - login to your your account (if you want something not listed there, email--we may not have had time to add it yet). We are sold out of Saag Paneer and Lentil Stew.

PRODUCE

We've attempted to update the numbers in the online store, but don't know if everything will come in as planned. We want you to know that the majority of the food items you buy at the grocery store are probably available through Fair Shares (we know this because you leave your Trader Joe's and Schnuck's receipts in your bags, ha!). Send us an email if you want to come in on another day to get a few extras. Did you check the new online store from your Farmigo account

Besides being a source of vitamins A, C, and K, hot peppers supposedly help burn fat deposits in the body. That alone gets me interested, but did you know that hot peppers are also believed to arrest the growth and division of cancer cells, act as an anti-inflammatory to help in the treatment of migraines, arthritis, and muscular pains, help fight colds, sinusitis, and bronchitis, improve blood circulation, have an anti-coagulant effect, be beneficial for stomach ailments, suppress appetite, combat depression, and in a dried state, kill bacteria and hasten the healing process? Sounds like the next wonder drug, right? Here are some suggestions on how to handle, eat and preserve those hot peppers.Read more
