Coronavirus response at Fair Shares

Before picking up your order, please read carefully the processes that we have in place during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep you, and us, safe.
  • We aren’t letting anyone in the Mothership building except a few volunteers—who we social distance from—and we are using gloves, masks, and cleaning as we go.
  • We are requesting that our farmers and vendors bag items for us and use delivery methods that require less handling of the food.

Pickup Info

We’re changing the plan for pickups weekly until we establish a routine that works. ***PLEASE READ THE UPDATES EACH WEEK. We have a lot on our plates—a LOT—so please read this instead of emailing questions.
    • If you’re sending someone to get your share, please share this with them or give them instructions.
    • We’re packing shares in paper bags. Please return your clean, folded paper bag if it isn’t ripped or ruined, and we will reuse it after letting it sit untouched for a week or two.
    • We won’t take back jars or egg cartons right now. Only milk bottles.
    • We expect that you will go home and wipe down the groceries as you would with any other store at this time.
    • Place your trades and extra purchases through our online store by 11 a.m. Wednesday to give us time to process them.
    • To improve curbside pickup at the Mothership (Northrup), we are trying out a signup system of time slots, which should decrease your wait and (most importantly!) our stress.

For pickups at the Mothership – 5021 Northrup:

    • If you don’t know what time you’ll make it, make a good guess. And remember, by 11 a.m.!
    • We will bring your share outside, set it down, and call your name. Please pay attention!
    • If you’re returning milk bottles, please let us know when we bring out your bag. We will have milk crates for you to put them in.

For pickups in UCity – Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4:30- 6 p.m.:

    • Stephen will take your name and point to your bag when you arrive.
    • If you are returning milk bottles please let Stephen know. We will have crates for you to put your returned bottles in.
    • Please order by 10:30 a.m. so we can get things done safely and on time.

For pickups in Kirkwood – Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 1-2:30 p.m.:

    • Nick will be at the church lot 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday. He will set out the bags away from the van for you to come pick up.
    • If you are returning milk bottles, please let Nick know, and you can set them in the crate provided.
    • If you know beforehand that you won’t arrive by 2:30, let us know if you want Nick to leave your bag under the covered area outside the double doors. Otherwise, we’ll bring your share back to the Mothership. If you find tat the last minute that won’t make it by 2:30, please text Lindy at 314-664-0872 with instructions.
    • NOTE: please don’t leave anything there if you’re picking up late.
