Welcome to Fair Shares Season 19 Wk17
We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and ODD-week Half Share members this week.
Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.
• Select your pickup time and ADD it in your cart so we can be more efficient in our organizing and distributing shares.
• After saving your trades, if you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through.
• You may update your cart as many times as you like. Only your final cart contents will show on our report. • Your standard share items will be packed for you if you do not log in to your cart.
PICKUP DAY AND LOCATION You can easily switch the day or location, temporarily or permanently by reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday. We must change it in our system before we run reports and start pulling and packing shares. Note that selecting a pickup time at a different location will not change your pickup in our system; you must request that so we can change it on our end.
Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.
SHARE HOLDS Share holds need to be in place by EARLY Monday morning so we can avoid ordering produce for your share. This is critical in the high-produce season and has lead to the policy of charging the value of the produce in your share for late holds, since we aren't a store with options for selling the items later.

Tip: Freeze Your Peppers!
Do you know you can freeze peppers? This time of year I have so many peppers rolling around in my fridge. When winter hits and we make chili, stew, soup, or meatloaf, we are so happy we took the time to chop and freeze them. We like to freeze the sweet peppers separately from the banana peppers. Freeze jalepenos whole, but if you don’t like that much heat, you can de-seed them and then freeze. We have a vacuum sealer but you can just use a ziplock bag and place a straw at one end. Seal the bag and suck out as much air as you can then remove the straw and seal the bag completely. Remember to date your bags so you know which to use first. Here’s to preserving the harvest!

Light and fresh is key. Below is a classic Spanish recipe to give you a good starting point but GAZPACH - is a place to really let your creativity sing! With ot without bread - citrus is nice, GARLIC it UP!

Vichyssoise is a smooth, cold French soup made from cooked leeks, potatoes, chicken (or veggie) stock, and heavy cream. Also known as Potato Leek Soup (and delicious hot). It is easy to make and tastes great on a hot day. It's a classic. COOL TIP: Zucchini can be added to classic Vichyssoise to mix it up as well as corn and always anything green....

Get help from seasoned members! Ask questions about those oddball produce items you would never buy because you don't know what to do with them. Then you can show off your skills and share your own food inspirations. https://www.facebook.com/groups/49485152740
We would also love for you to help by sharing our (or your own!) posts on social media. Recommendations work! Review us on Google and at LocalHarvest.org
You're helping us grow!
We're getting new trials and new members each week and would like to thank everyone who is spreading the word, and bringing our flyers to work, school and the gym. Every recommendation helps. Let us know if you need flyers!
Although we allow members to put their share on hold, we'd like to remind you that offering your share as thanks or payment to house- and pet-sitters is a wonderful way to help introduce local eating to friends and family. We also offer gift certificates for giving the gift of food for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding gifts and any other occasion.

Notes on Trades and Orders
If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.
The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.
Please check the descriptions of items!
Some things are sold by the pound (like cuts of meat, indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.
Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed"
If you're logged out of your account, you can access the online store to look around, but please understand that we won't "open" the store until we have updated our store inventory. We can't do this until we've entered all the numbers and then filled the carts with the tradable items for each group. We wait until 4p.m. because we are busy taking delivery of the food, weighing, counting and divvying, and then checking for accurate numbers before entering all this info into our online system. If we assume everything will come in as planned, it makes for a lot of extra work later when we have to let people know we don't have what they ordered!

Wildcards in your list with a value indicate that you should delete it from your cart and select from the store to use up that value.
Wildcard produce items in parentheses are not a choice, but rather a surprise. Per member request, we try to let you know what it might be to help you with planning and ordering. PLEASE do NOT contact us about wanting a specific item because the produce bags are pre-packed and we don't have the ability to manage requests.
