Welcome to Fair Shares Season 19 Wk12

We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and EVEN-week Half Share members this week.
Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.

LOGIN HERE to make trades.
• Select your pickup time and ADD it in your cart so we can be more efficient in our organizing and distributing shares.
• After saving your trades, if you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through.
• You may update your cart as many times as you like. Only your final cart contents will show on our report. • Your standard share items will be packed for you if you do not log in to your cart.

PICKUP DAY AND LOCATION
You can easily switch the day or location, temporarily or permanently by reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday. We must change it in our system before we run reports and start pulling and packing shares. Note that selecting a pickup time at a different location will not change your pickup in our system; you must request that so we can change it on our end.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

SHARE HOLDS
Share holds need to be in place by EARLY Monday morning
so we can avoid ordering produce for your share. This is critical in the high-produce season and has lead to the policy of charging the value of the produce in your share for late holds, since we aren't a store with options for selling the items later.

NEW KIRKWOOD AND UCITY PICKUP TIMES
Until our numbers rise and we need longer windows to distribute the shares, we've shortened the hours:
UCity pickup is 4:15 - 5:30.
Kirkwood pickup is 1:00 - 2:00.

Cucumber, Tomato, Peach and Corn Salad

Cucumber, Tomato, Peach and Corn Salad
Every summer, I fantasize about this salad as each ingredient becomes available and begins ringing in the season until finally the chorus kicks in. The name of the recipe sort of says it all. You can use equal proportions, or more or less of any depending on your tastes, or what you have available. This salad is so fresh it deserves a slap on the face. It also makes a delicious salsa with the addition of hot peppers, …

Summer Corn Salad

Summer Corn Salad
This is kind of a mashup of two previous recipes. I love love love when corn is in season and usually shuck and cut the corn before cooking so it can do different things. Read more

Join our Facebook group

Get help from seasoned members! Ask questions about those oddball produce items you would never buy because you don't know what to do with them. Then you can show off your skills and share your own food inspirations. https://www.facebook.com/groups/49485152740

We would also love for you to help by sharing our (or your own!) posts on social media. Recommendations work! Review us on Google and at LocalHarvest.org

You're helping us grow!

We're getting new trials and new members each week and would like to thank everyone who is spreading the word, and bringing our flyers to work, school and the gym. Every recommendation helps. Let us know if you need flyers!

Although we allow members to put their share on hold, we'd like to point out that offering your share as thanks or payment to your house- and pet-sitters is a wonderful way to help introduce local eating to friends and family. We also offer gift certificates for giving the gift of food for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding gifts and any other occasion.

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click the items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items!

Some things are sold by the pound (like cuts of meat, indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.

Wildcards in your list with a value indicate that you should delete it from your cart and select from the store to use up that value.

Wildcard produce items in parentheses are not a choice, but rather a surprise. Per member request, we try to let you know what it might be to help you with planning and ordering. PLEASE do NOT contact us about wanting a specific item because the produce bags are pre-packed and we don't have the ability to manage requests.
