Welcome to Fair Shares Season 19 Wk5

We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and ODD-week Half Share members this week.
Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.

LOGIN HERE to make trades.
• Select your pickup time and ADD it in your cart so we can be more efficient in our organizing and distributing shares.
• After saving your trades, if you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through.
• You may update your cart as many times as you like. Only your final cart contents will show on our report. • Your standard share items will be packed for you if you do not log in to your cart.

Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday. We can change it easily in our system, but need to do so before we run reports and start pulling and packing shares. Note that selecting a pickup time at a different location will not change your pickup in our system; you must request that so we can change it on our end.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

Help us grow!

Our membership is down considerably at the start of this season. As we approached the end of last season without a plan to continue, many members found other outlets to access fresh local food.

While we're getting new trials and new members each week--and we thank you all for helping to recruit--we also wanted to remind everyone that sharing your share while you're on vacation is a great way to say thanks to your house-sitters, and giving the gift of food for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding gifts and any other occasion is a wonderful way to help introduce local eating to friends and family.

We would love for you to help us increase our membership by sharing our (or your own!) posts on social media. Recommendations work! Review us on Google and at LocalHarvest.org

Roasted Radishes with Yogurt-Tahini Sauce

Roasted Radishes with Yogurt-Tahini Sauce
Here’s a fun dish where you roast the radish and use the tops as a salad. (Editor's note: this is a great preparation for salad turnips with tops, like scarlet or Japanese, too). If you have rough radish tops you can use arugula.... Read more
Remember to separate your root veggies from their tops before you store them in the refrigerator. This will keep the greens from wilting and the roots from getting soft, because once they are out of the ground and with no water source, they vie for moisture.

Stir Fry with Bok Choy

Stir Fry with Bok Choy
I love bok choy. It’s a wonderful veggie to use in a stir fry. Did you know that bok choy is packed with vitamins C, A, and D? It’s nutritious and delicious! I love that you are almost getting 2 veggies in one with the crunchy stems and the tender greens. I just chop it up and fold it into a dish. Read more

Garlic Scapes Pesto

Garlic Scapes Pesto
Garlic Scapes--Binomial Name: Allium sativum L. When we found out the garlic scapes were ready, we were fairly giddy with excitement, what with garlic being our favorite vegetable and all. Garlic scapes are the above ground stalk and seed head of the hardneck garlic bulb. Scapes are often harvested about three weeks before the head of garlic reaches …

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click the items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items!

Some things are sold by the pound (like cuts of meat, indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
