Welcome to Fair Shares Season 17 Wk7

We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and ODD-week Half Share members this week.
(Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.)

Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday.

LOGIN HERE to select your time and ADD it in your cart. Make sure that the time you want is in your order confirmation email. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through. You may update your cart as many times as you like. Your share will be packed for you regardless of whether you make changes or select a time. The time just helps us organize and have your bags ready when you arrive.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

This email is how we communicate with members. Please at least scan it so you know any important information. If you have questions, just reply to this email. You can find past newsletters on the website here.
String Bean Coffee Bag Collection
Pete of String Bean Coffee would like to take his bags back, so please return them when empty!
Give the Gift of Food!
As much as we like giving members the ability to put their shares on hold, we equally dislike having to let our produce farmers we can't take as much of the food they are growing for us as we had anticipated.

They are counting on us to move the food we asked them to grow, so we'd like to remind everyone what a great pet- or house-sitting gift, wedding or birthday present, thank you, donation, or just a kind gesture offering your share to others is. It's especially appreciated by our farmers!

Week 7

This is the last week for microgreens in shares! They are in Mini shares as a wildcard item this week as well as in the online store. We appreciate Bee Simple City Farm for always providing this great product (and other great items ) to us!

NEW: Purple Cauliflower, Beets with tops, and Romaine lettuce heads

Tip: Go Topless

Woo woo. Take it off baby! When you receive root veggies with the greens attached, it's important to remove the tops from the roots. The greens are edible if they're in good shape--even radish greens, and even when they are wilted (they are just thirsty)! … Read more

Daikon Refrigerator Salad

Daikon Refrigerator Salad
What to do with the Daikon radishes? Make a refrigerator salad! You can call it a slaw if you want, but this is what I call anything mostly raw veg that can keep in my refrigerator for several days. Read more

Mushroom Risotto

Mushroom Risotto
When I saw that fellow member Jamie Valencheck Shupp was making mushroom broth I had to try it in my fave risotto recipe. Read more

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click the items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound (indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account.
