Welcome to Fair Shares Season 18 Wk33

We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and ODD-week Half Share members this week.

(Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.)

Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday.

LOGIN HERE to select your time and ADD it in your cart. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through. You may update your cart as many times as you like. Your share will be packed for you regardless of whether you make changes or select a time. The time just helps us organize and have your bags ready when you arrive.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

UCity Members

Good news! We will be back in the dining room at Trinity this week and will have members use the back kitchen door at the alley.

Fair Shares Transition

We are in talks with some folks who are interested in continuing Fair Shares, but we'll wait until the plans are concrete before we make any announcements.

Thanksgiving Schedule and Pre-ordering Info

Share Holds Due Early

If you will not be needing your share the week of Thanksgiving, please let us know by 9a.m. next Monday, November 17th, since we are doing two weeks' worth of planning and ordering that week.

Pickups are Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, regular place and time. Note that the Farmigo system will still indicate Wednesday and Thursday pickups.

Wednesday members will pickup Monday and Thursday members will pickup Tuesday. The newsletter will come out on Sunday the 23rd and orders are due Monday morning. You may request the other day with an email by 10:30am Monday. Remember our online system will still say pickups are Wednesday and Thursday.

Field To Fire Items for Thanksgiving Pre-order

Chef Mike is offering a variety of dips and prepared side dishes which will be available for pickup on the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving with that week's shares. Check the Prepared Foods Category and Pre-order in the store by the Wednesday the 19th.

Union Loafers will only deliver on Tuesday for Thanksgiving week. There will be a clipboard at pickup this week and next so can let us know if you want something specific so we can pre-order.

Milk Orders (including eggnog) for Thanksgiving week will need to be placed by the Friday the 21st, and if you normally just order from the store, you will need to tell us what you want because we aren't intentionally ordering extras for that week.

Week 33

We helped our farmers this week by ordering produce 2 days earlier than usual. That allowed farmers to pick Saturday (60 degree highs) as opposed to Sunday and Monday (40 degree highs).

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Here's a video demo on how to make trades. Note that Farmigo has updated their system to allow you to click the items in your cart that have variations for you to select. Here's the link to LOGIN.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound (indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

When you pick up, remember to read your bag for any messages. There might be a decision you need to make on something. We don't add the half gallon bottles of milk (or pizza at the Mothership) to your bag, so need to get it when you pickup.

SHARE HOLDS NEED TO BE MADE BY 8:00A.M. MONDAY

If you realize too late that you aren't going to be able to get your share, consider asking a friend if they'd like to take it--whether for payment as a gift (it's a great way to pay dog walkers or house sitters!). It also helps us recruit new members. You can also contact us to arrange another pickup time. But with the amount and value of fresh produce in the shares, we can't afford to purchase all the extras we won't be able to sell.

Wildcard produce items in parentheses are not a choice, but rather a surprise. We try to let you know what it might be to help you with planning and ordering. PLEASE do NOT contact us about wanting a specific item because the produce bags are pre-packed and we don't have the ability to manage requests.

Wildcards in your list with a value indicate that you should delete it from your cart and select from the store to use up that value.
