Welcome to Fair Shares Season 18 Wk19
We'll see all Full Share, Mini Share, and ODD-week Half Share members this week.
(Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.)
Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday.
LOGIN HERE to select your time and ADD it in your cart. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your order didn't go through. You may update your cart as many times as you like. Your share will be packed for you regardless of whether you make changes or select a time. The time just helps us organize and have your bags ready when you arrive.
Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

SHARE HOLDS NEED TO BE MADE BY 8:00A.M. MONDAY
If you realize too late that you aren't going to be able to get your share, consider asking a friend if they'd like to take it--whether for payment as a gift (it's a great way to pay dog walkers or house sitters!). It also helps us recruit new members. You can also contact us to arrange another pickup time. But with the amount and value of fresh produce in the shares, we can't afford to purchase all the extras we won't be able to sell.
We want to give a big thanks to those of you who are buying extra produce, and who rearrange your half shares to take a share on your off week, or give your vacation shares to friends. With an average of over 40 members being on hold throughout the summer months, it really helps our farmers to move through the abundance of produce they've grown for our regular number of members.

Summertime, and the living is...
...not so easy, when it comes to keeping the food at optimum temps and conditions. Keep in mind the amount of time it takes: for the farmers to pack their goods into their vehicles and drive it to us; for us to get it sorted and into the coolers; for us to pack it into your individual bags; and for you to get your bags from Fair Shares and into your fridge. For some of the more highly perishable items, it can just push them over the edge, especially produce that wasn't picked unripe in order to be able to endure regular grocery store handling. We try our very best, but sometimes there will be a surprise when you cut into a melon, or maybe your milk seems not to last as long. Let us know if there are problems, but thank you for understanding why. You can help on your end by bringing a cooler with an ice pack if you have a long drive or an errand to run before your food will be hitting the refrigerator.

We Need Your Help
1. Check your email for the confirmation notice after placing an order to ensure that your order came through and that the pickup time is correct. If you didn't receive the email, go back to your account make sure you checked out completely. You may make as many changes to your order as you like until 10:30. It will keep only your last save.
2. Please read your bag for any messages. There might be a decision you need to make on something. We don't add the half gallon bottles of milk or pizza to your bag, so need to get it when you pickup. We also have new staff, are easily distracted by shiny things, and have probably done this dozens of times already that day, so are not 100% fabulous in this category. It is also in your best interest to check that what is in the bag is accurate or even if we gave you the correct bag with your name on it.

It's a lot, but it takes a village.

Week 19
- No greens this week. It's nature's way of allowing a bit of time for us to start missing them before their return in the fall.
- Eggplant is being offered more often by more farmers, so included below is a repost of a ratatouille recipe.
- Watermelons will be slightly smaller this week, for those of you who may find the bigger ones hard to get through
- New: Fingerling Potatoes

I just threw this together in a glass pie pan but you can use any medium sized dish or pan for this.

I'm intermittent fasting and my eating window is 2-8p.m. Sometimes I strategize how I can get all the food I WANT to eat to include all the food I HAVE to eat into that window.
Also, I live on a catamaran, so in my small fridge, (which is about half the size of a normal fridge but twice the size of those on many other boats), I lose food. Or rather, I lose track of food because it's hard to get to... Read more

Ratatouille
I took home a bunch of eggplant, peppers, zucchini and tomatoes that needed to be processed, and decided to make a ratatouille. I didn't really follow a recipe (surprise, surprise), but this recipe from Cookie and Kate is pretty close to what I made in terms of ingredients and process. … Read more

Notes on Trades and Orders
If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.
The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.
Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound (indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.
