Welcome to Fair Shares Season 17 Wk48

We'll see all Wednesday and Thursday Full Share, Mini Share, and EVEN-week Half Share members this week. (Note the ODD and EVEN half shares correspond to the odd- or even-numbered weeks of our season.)

Your assigned pickup day is [Delivery Day], but if you ever need to switch the day or location, reply to this email before 10a.m. Wednesday, and then look for a thumbs up or confirmation reply from us.

LOGIN HERE to select your time and ADD it in your cart. Make sure that the time you want is in your order confirmation email. If you don't receive an automated confirmation email, your order didn't go through. You may update your cart as many times as you like until we run our report at 10:30 Wednesday. Your share will be packed for you regardless of whether you make changes or select a time. The time just helps us organize and have your bags ready when you arrive.

Pro Tip: You can browse the store when it's "closed" by logging out of your account, but keep in mind that we update the store inventory on Tuesdays just before sending out the newsletter.

Week 48

Countdown to March Break

We'll be taking the last three weeks off in March, while the farmers are getting their Spring crops ready, and we'll restart with Season 18 at the beginning of April. This is the FIFTH official notice:

TWO more pickups before the break!

Season 17 final pickup will be Week 49 on March 5 and 6.

Shopping Day in the middle of the break for members to restock (details to come).

Season 18 first pickup will be Week 1 on April 2 and 3.

Remember, you can jump in or out any time--we continue counting the seasons and weeks for our own record keeping and tracking. Can you believe we've nearly completed 17 years!?!

REMINDER TO WEDNESDAY HALF-SHARE MEMBERS: We will be including your last pickup's makeup share this week, so your carts will include all the tradables.

Half Shares: Remember this is your final pickup before the second week in April--plan to stock up and to come in for the shopping day!

Egg Shortage: Well, the egg crisis is real, and people everywhere have begun hoarding, making our normal egg quantities unavailable. In an attempt to mitigate this issue, we have limited the quantity of eggs that may be ordered from the store, but we intend to continue purchasing eggs at our normal levels during the break so members may come pick up eggs from the mothership throughout the break in addition to the scheduled shopping day. Sorry for the inconvenience, but thanks for willing to help make eggs available throughout our break for everyone!

Mid-break Shopping Day

We're planning a mid-break shopping day for Wednesday March 19th, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.m.

Stop in to stock up or pick up a few things to get you through the break until we begin Season 18 the first week of April.

Still no yogurt while Kurt at Windcrest is awaiting parts. Maybe it's time to make your own?

Please Check Your Bags!

Please help us by confirming that the bag we give you has your name on it (sometimes we know your name, sometimes we think we know your name, sometimes we grab the wrong bag).

Also please scan the outside of the bag near your name for notes that might require we grab something from the freezer, or for you to make a choice. We can be easily distracted and miss something when handing out so many shares.

Check that you've gotten everything you were supposed to receive--if you're missing produce that we need to credit you for, that's a loss we'd rather not take if we can resolve it on site when you pick up.

Notes on Trades and Orders

If you have questions or an issue to resolve, please email info@fairshares.org. Do not reply to the order confirmation emails that send to orders@fairshares.org account--WE DO NOT ALWAYS CHECK THAT MAILBOX BEFORE PICKUPS, so if you want a reply, use info@fairshares.org, which goes to both Jamie and Sara, and one of us will see it.

The share clipboards below will include the fresh produce on your list, but the cart in your Farmigo account lists only the tradable items in your share. You must spend the total credit value in your cart but you are welcome to buy extra. Any amount over the tradeable value will show as Extra Credit and you will be charged additional plus tax on that amount.

Please check the descriptions of items! Some things are sold by the pound (indicated by /lb. in the item name) so the actual price will be different from what's listed in the store. If what's in your bag is not what you were expecting, give it back. If you're at the Mothership, you may be able to choose something else. This is particularly important on items like bulk chicken breasts, where the item price shows the price per pound, but the package weight may be five pounds.

We offer wildcard produce when we have too small amounts of one thing to put in a particular share. This allows us to fill our share numbers and use the produce our farmers have grown for us. We know it can be difficult just to be offered "wildcard" so we try to let you know what might be in your share. This is to help you with planning and ordering, but it is not a choice, so PLEASE do NOT contact us about wanting a specific item. The produce bags are pre-packed for each group, and we don't note which bags have which wildcard items. With five groups picking up in three locations over two days, and numerous staff and volunteers filling the bags and passing out the shares, we don't have the ability to manage special requests beyond the normal trades and orders, which is often more than we can handle accurately on its own! Thanks for understanding that this is the CSA part of Fair Shares.

Wildcards in the Shares

We offer "wildcards" when we have too small amounts of one thing to put in a particular share. When there is a $value after it, we want you to dete it from your cart and choose something of an equal value from the store to be sure you get something you like. Otherwise, we will surprise you!
